Hello

About some of the pictures on the blog.

The girls went to a really cute pony party for the girl that Joseph takes piano lessons from. They had so much fun and came home dressed up like ponies. What a great idea, they even had tails and face painting. The woman that Joseph takes lessons from has two teenage daughts and they were helping out a lot. They had a great time.

Katherine is in a little tutu that Aunt Lizzie made for her to wear. It is still a little too big, but it is so cute! She is a future ballerina that is for sure. She is doing really well. She had her follow up cardiology appointment at Children's Hospital. I have not been to the new one. It is huge! It feels like a small city. It is so open and airy, very nice. While I was there, I could hear an African choir singing in the lobby, it was beautiful music, different then what I am used to, but pretty nonetheless. The appointment went well. She does have a heart murmur that is caused by a tigheting of her valve. It is called Pulmonary Stenosis. The doctor said it is nothing to worry about, they will follow up with her in 6 months and do another Eco-Cardio to look at it again. So, we will keep an eye on it. I am glad that the appointment is over and we know now. She is growing great, gained another two ounces in about a week. She is doing great and by far the cutest baby you have ever seen.

Joseph did not have school today and his three week off track has started a day early. He was scheduled to have an award assembly today to receive a pillar of character award, oh well I am sure they will give it to him later. I asked him what the award was for, he said I have no idea. Boys! They are so not detailed oriented! We will find out soon enough. He has started his baseball practices. We went and spent a small fortune at Sport's Authority buying new cleats, baseball bat/weight, and a protection cup. They have to wear one for player pitch I guess and have to have thier own bat that fits them. Considering the fact that his shoe size had grown about 2 sizes in about three months, he really needes new cleats. He is excited and seems to be on a great team. His coach used to pitch for the Cubs and Cards, so I think he has a lot of practice. His wife seems really nice as well. He already has a nick name from the coach which is Little Man. Perfect for him! He is a baseball player at heart and will do great this season I am sure.

Last night was the pinewood derby. Mike and Joseph worked on the car for well over a week. It was named Shock Wave! It is bright red and won 4 out of 6 races. Joseph was so pleased with the performance. But the real truth is that Mike was loving every moment of the whole process. He mentioned the performance of the car several times last night and then this morning as well. I am not sure who has more fun with the car, the father or son. But, it is so cute to see them working together on something they both love. I am blessed to have such a great husband and son. Both are great boys and I love them very much.

Mike is doing great in school and will be done in August, what will I do with myself? He will actually be here. What a concept?

I went to the doctor yesturday for the blood pressure, it is getting better, I still have to take the medicince once a day like I have been taking, that is still the same. It is still difficult to go back to the hospital, so many bad memories, but it is getting a little bit easier. I am still dealing and working with the feelings of trauma. That will still take a while, I think that is not something that you get over quickly.

I had a great time at my book club with the book club girls. It was my pick and I choose "These is my words." It is a great book, everyone seemed to enjoy it. It was a fun night out as usual. We met at the Olive Garden in Stapleton. I had a new dish, it was so yummy, a great choice. We all enjoyed yummy desserts as well.

The grandparents are all coming tomorrow hopefully with the weather. We are blessing the baby on Sunday, I am looking forward to it, it will be fun. I will let you know how it goes. It will be a fun, busy weekend. My father-in-law is a real handy man and will be doing several jobs around here. One of which is replacing our dining room and front room light fixtures. We bought them last week and I am anxious to see them up.

Will write soon about the blessing!

Sort of a free moment

Hello

I have a quick moment to get on the computer and write about the last few weeks in the Nelson family.

I had a little shower from some of my friends in my ward a couple of Saturdays ago. It was really fun, I had a great time. We all met at Paradise Cafe at Southlands and enjoyed a fun lunch. Thanks again to my visiting teacher for treating me to a great lunch of homemade tomato soup and grilled cheese. The meal was complete with a great cookie and even better company. I only invited 8 people so it was a small crowd. Everyone seemed to have a great time and in no hurry to leave. I got some great clothes (in the perfect sizes that I need). It was just really fun, relaxing afternoon for me and everyone who went. Thanks again for everyone for coming.

The other big event in the month was Joseph turned 9 a couple of days ago. Holy Cow! When did he get old enough to turn 9?! On Friday (the day of his birthday) he brought in cupcakes to share with his class. He passed them out during Friday free time which it seems he was allowed to wonder around the school handing them out. He says he gave them to his 1st, 2nd grade teachers. Then he gave one to the nurse and tried to give one to the gym teacher who he loves becuase that is his favorite subject, but they were having an assmbly so he could not go in there. Like I said, he walked the school. Oh well, that is why I send 30 with him, so he can share the love.

The next day was the party. I told him he can invite two friends to come along. He choose two boys from school and then we loaded up the van and went out to Chuck-E-Cheese. We were there with the other half of the city of Denver. The kids did not seem to notice though. We opened presents and then blew out candles. Then somehow Mike got off the hook by sitting in a corner with the baby while I chased around 5 kids handing out tokens and collecting tickets. They all had a great time.

We then went to Red Robin for dinner. The boys were a little silly while sitting and waiting for the food. But, we had a great waiter and were signaling to him to hurry up the order. The kids all calmed down when the food came and all ate it gone. There is something about that place that kids love, they have great food. I had a great mushroom/swiss burger, yummy! They sang to him and he got a hot fudge sundae in which the three boys devoured in about 3 seconds. Shoo!! Another crazy birthday under my belt, three more to go in the year.

Well, I have got to go feed three kids, more later.
