Catching Up

Hello

To explain the pictures.

Joseph had his pinewood derby last month. His car that he and his dad spent a couple of weeks on was named Shock Wave. It won 4 out of 6 races. Joseph was delighted. I have never seen him much happier than that. He was in his 7th heaven. It meant so much to win those races. He did not win any trophies or anything but he was still having a great time. The name shock wave comes from some stickers that were on the car and that is what we were yelling as the car zoomed down the track. GO SHOCK WAVE!

The other pictures come from the blessing weekend. We had such a great time. Both sets of parents were here as you can see. The day before they all came in there was a large snow storm of course. But, the weather cleared and they were able to all make it in without a problem. We all enjoyed a great weekend. My parents always stay in a hotel and this was no exception. The kids had a great time slepping over at the hotel with them. They get to watch movies and have breakfast, always so fun fun there. My parents, kids, and I went out to Funtastic Fun. It is an indoor amusment park in Englewood. My mom took them there when she was here while I was sick. So we had to go back when they were here again. They had a great time. My mom had to spoil them by getting them little gift bags as well and getting them in there. Grandma's are great for spoiling!

We then went out to lunch and then my dad took the kids home and mom and I did some fun shopping. We went and shopped at Eddie Bauer where my friend Elizabeth works and she sold me some really cute clothes with my Mom's help of course. Thanks again Mom. It was a great afternoon.

The Nelson boys hung some new lighting in the front room and the dining room. It looks so much better! Then they built some new shelves in the garage, hall closet, and laundry room. I love the shelves, so nice. They kept really busy with the projects and my mother-in-law seemed content with holding the baby.

Sunday was the blessing and that went great. It is always nice to get that over with. But Mike did a great job and it was so nice to have everyone here. It is nice to have family come and visit when you do not see them very often. Katherine did great at the blessing, did not make a peep. She looked beautiful in her dress and blanket. So Cute.

Joseph has started spring baseball and is almost done with this season. He has a great coach who used to pitch for the Cubs and Cards. His son in on the team. Joseph's nickname that the coach has given him is Little Tiger. He gets a little frustrated about not getting hit but it is player pitch and half the time the ball does not make it across the plate. He has been walked several times. We spent a small fortune on supplies for him now he is moving up in the game. I do not want to tell you how long we spent in Sport's Authority picking out the perfect bat for him. Shall I just say we were all there for hours. It was intense selction process.

He is still enjoying playing the piano. He is great at it and is much better player than I ever was. He loves doing that. He and I went on a walking tour of LODO which is Lower Downtown Denver for a field trip at school. Mike took the day off and I went down there by myself on the light rail. It was weird to have so much quiet time to myself, I did not know what to do. I met up with the classes at Union Station. That is where the tour began. We walked LODO for several blocks and looked at several buildings. We all met up with the other classes at the end of the tour and had lunch at the plaza next to the main bus depot. It was watching 60 wild 3rd greaders running around like crazy people. It was loud. The whole group of us near 80 with the adults, all got on the free mall bus and took it back to Union Station. I am sure the bus driver loved us getting on. It was loud! It was like herding 60 cats. Crazy! I take my hat off to teachers that are willing to do that all the time. They do great with the kids.

The girls are doing great. They love their ballet class and look forward to doing it every week. They will start pre-school in August, we are looking forward to that. They will do twice a week from 9-12. That will be some quiet time for me.

Well, I guess that is about it for now.

Hope all is well.
