All About Christmas

Well, mom has taken the kids to do some bowling so I have a free moment to write about our fun Christmas.

We had a great time. Joseph was so excited that my mom said he woke up around 5:00 a.m. She heard him and got up and told him to go back to bed. He did, but I am not sure if he fell back to sleep. The adults all got up around 6:30 and then of course Joseph was up again. The girls were still sound asleep, but I woke them up it seemed unfair for Joseph to wait any longer to open up the presents.

We all had a great time enjoying the presents. The kids loved what Santa and Grandmas and Grandpas got them. I got Mike a new Sugar Bowl shirt for his Utes that are playing tomarrow. It was a surprise and he loved it. Eventhough I am a Cougar, I will have to say Go Utes!

The rest of the morning was spent putting together toys and watching the kids play with them. Mom then fixed a great meal. We had turkey with all the fixings. It was yummy. My brother and sister-in-law came over for the afternoon and part of the evening. It was fun to see them and spend time with them on Christmas. They have a son who is almost three and he just blended right in with the other kids. They loved playing down in the basement with the new toys, he seemed to have a great time. Their daughter is almost three months and it was fun to see and hold her. They named her Avery and she and Katherine will be really close in age which will be fun for them growing up. We all had a great time.

Our New Years was not quite as eventful. I was the lone hold out. Mom went to her room to read and then fell asleep around 9:30, Mike was out on the couch around the same time. I stayed up all the way to after 10:00 to watch the news for a bit. Oh, it was a party! Then we were woken up by our neighbors around you guessed it midnight setting up fireworks in thier back yard. All I rememeber hearing is someone saying "Set it off, Set it off." But after whatever it was set off, it was quiet again, no problem going back to sleep. So, that was our New Years. Quiet, but at least not at the hospital and I made it all the way through December without having a baby. That means I will not have 5 birthdays in that month just four. But, as my good friend Melissa pointed out, eventhough it is not in December, it will be close and all of our birthdays will be close together. Oh well, I guess we will get them all done at once. So, Happy New Year to everyone. This year will be eventful for us. This year we will celebrate the birth of a baby, Mike graduating from his MBA, our ten year wedding anniversary, ten year anniversary from graduating from college, ten years at Janus, and ten years living in Denver. Wow, that is a lot of things to think about. Needless to say, 1999 was an eventful year for us as will be 2009. Funny how life works out that way.

Love to you all!

Wow, I didn't realize you had all those 10 year anniversaries...crazy!
By the way I love the ultrasound of Katherine...that is amazing how you can actually tell it's is a baby. Those 3D ultrasounds are incredible!

It looks like you had a great Christmas. And there is nothing wrong with a nice quiet night in for New Years. That's good news that you escaped December without a new baby. Now onto an exciting New Year for you all!
